Established in 2005 the Thames Valley Group is a relatively young group which aims to support trustees and all those involved in the delivery and support of employer based pension schemes. The meetings are also open to non members and the catchment area is defined by the M3 to the South and the M40 to the North.

Thames Valley Local Group Meeting

Meeting Topic: Destination De-Risked: the Road to the Endgame
Speakers
: Jon Mortimore | Deal Manager, Aviva DB Solutions
Moiz Khan | Investment strategist, Aviva Investors
Start: 4:30 pm
Venue: XPS, Albion, Fishponds Rd, Wokingham RG41 2QE

DB pension schemes are slowly but surely heading towards their endgame. The uncertain cost of pensions continues to put pressure on sponsor companies, while trustees must adapt to ever changing regulations and challenges.

In this joint session, Jon and Moiz will discuss how pension schemes can implement de-risking strategies blending both, investment and insurance techniques when targeting an endgame strategy. In particular, they will consider how an integrated risk management framework that takes into account investment, longevity and covenant risks could be implemented in practice.
