The Manchester Group normally holds five meetings between October and March in addition to an AGM in May. The meetings start at 5 pm (with refreshments at 4.30) and normally last an hour.
The format is usually a presentation by an expert speaker followed by an opportunity for questions and an open discussion. However, once a year we bring together a panel of well known pensions personalities for a pensions question time. These are very lively and have proved extremely popular with members.
All of our meetings are held in central Manchester. The meetings are an excellent opportunity for networking and to ask questions of the expert speakers. Some of our meetings are followed by a social event. The last meeting of our season is the AGM which is usually followed by dinner at a restaurant in Manchester. The Committee works very hard to ensure the presentations are topical and important, and we welcome feedback from members.
We also hold an annual training day in February, which is designed to be suitable for people whose job is bringing them into contact with pensions for the first time.
