October 2018

Annual Conference & Exhibition 2018 (AC18)

Our flagship event, a three day conference attracting over 1,500 attendees – the most important event of the year for anyone involved in pensions (trustees, pension scheme managers, administrators, HR specialists, finance directors and their advisers).  The event includes a trade exhibition of approximately 80 exhibition stands.

Becoming a trustee Virtual Training (VTBT1810)

Becoming a trustee is in two parts: Session 1 - (11:00 -12:00 noon). Session 2 - (14:00 -15:00). The sessions are offered through our virtual training platform and together they provide an insight into the appointment and role of a trustee. Employers and pension schemes keen to develop wider, more diverse participation on their trustee boards may also find this course helpful to inform employees or past employees who may be selected for election to a trustee board.

The sessions are offered through our virtual training platform using an internet connection. You will need video and audio access to do this training. If you work in an open plan office you may want to use head phones.

Teach-in 06:Why financial advice is important to all employees? (TI1810B)

This teach-in will provide essential information for scheme trustees, HR executives and Business Directors and Compensation/Benefits Executives in order that they may help their scheme members and employees understand a number of financial issues.

Teach-in 07: Currency Overlay: Why and How? (TI1810C)

Using the example of a hypothetical GBP-based investor, we’ll demonstrate the impact of leaving currency unhedged in an international bond and equity portfolio over the period 2000-18 and then examine the impact of applying passive and active hedging solutions to these portfolios.

A one day event, free to attend for Local Authorities, specifically designed to provide an essential update six months on from May’s Local Authority Conference.

Pension Basics Virtual Training (VTPB1811)

Pension Basics is in two parts: Session 1 - Getting to know the UK pensions system (11:00 - 12:00). Session 2 - Understanding the outcomes, this will take place in the afternoon on this date (14:00 - 15:00).  The sessions are offered through our virtual training platform and together they explore, for example, the key principles of UK pensions, their characteristics and finances, the organisations that monitor them and where to go to get more information.

Scotland Group Half Day Conference (SC1811)

A half day event. Sessions will cover a range of topical issues that are currently affecting pension schemes. Hear from leading practitioners and industry experts on the latest developments and best practice. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion.

Introduction to Trusteeship - Part 1: The Theory (IT1811)

This course is the first of two 1-day courses which together provide an introduction to the role of a pension scheme trustee. If you are new to trusteeship or thinking about becoming a pension scheme trustee this course is right for you. Learn the theory of pension scheme trusteeship, including what is expected from trustees and how to apply good scheme governance.

Introduction to Trusteeship - Part 2: The practice (IP1811)

This course is the second of two 1-day courses which together provide an introduction to the role of a pension scheme trustee. It is suitable for new trustees who have already learned the rudiments of pension scheme trusteeship or if you have already attended Introduction to trusteeship Part 1: The theory.

Trustee Conference 2018 (TC18)

An event specifically designed for non-professional trustees to keep them up-to-date on the latest changes affecting pensions and exploring the issues which make the role of a trustee so complex.

March 2019

Investment Conference 2019 (IV19)

A three day event attracting 950 attendees which focuses on pension fund investment.  The conference is aimed at trustees, chief investment officers, pension scheme managers, asset managers and investment specialists.
