Productive Finance in Practice

Policy Insights Webinars give you insight into the policy and lobbying work we do on your behalf. They are your opportunity to hear direct from the PLSA’s Policy and Advocacy team about the conversations they have with Ministers, Government officials and regulators, and to ask about other issues on the current agenda.

Following the launch of guides by the Productive Finance Working Group – an industry group convened by the FCA, HM Treasury and the Bank of England – this video shows what the guides cover, how it might be useful, and the wider work of the group. This project, and these guides, are primarily aimed at DC schemes.

We heard from Tim Gosling from The People’s Pension, Ross Hayter of abrdn, and Sonia Kataora of Barnett Waddingham, on what the guides are looking to achieve. We also heard from Nike Trost, FCA, on why she believes this remains an important topic, and Karen Hurst, PLSA, for our in-house view.

This was an interactive session – and we’ll touch on the events of the past few months and whether this will make DC schemes view the matter differently.

The Government continues to place great importance on this theme. We hope you enjoyed the discussion from some of the industries key stakeholders.
