Local Authority Conference 2024 | 11-13 June | Gloucestershire

Sustainability

We are working with Climate Action for Associations to improve our sustainability practices as an organisation as well as the events that we run. During the discovery phase of this project, we are continuing with the existing sustainability measures.

Our conference app means that we no longer print the programme or delegate list or print many PLSA publications. It also means that attendees can exchange contact details without the need for business cards by scanning the QR code on their badge. The PLSA’s latest publications will be available to download via the app too. It creates a more sustainable way to exchange and receive documents without the need for printed materials.

Other measures to reduce carbon at Local Authority Conference:

  • By asking you to print your own badge in advance we are able to reduce the event structures on site and therefore the volume of freight and number of lorries travelling
  • We have also appointed an official freight forwarding company with the intention of reducing the number of lorries arriving on-site

We have developed a waste hierarchy which also includes other measures we’re undertaking to be more sustainable.

You can find out about the DeVere Cotswold Water Park and how they are being more sustainable here
