Regulatory differences between occupational and workplace personal pensions: A NAPF response to a DWP consultation

In January 2011 the DWP issued a Call for Evidence on the regulatory differences between trust and contract-based pension schemes. The paper particularly focused on concerns about the rules that allow trust-based schemes to give refunds to members if they leave after less that two years membership. The NAPF response calls for short service refunds to remain an option to prevent schemes and employers being left with thousands of small pension pots, which are burdensome to administer.
