Automatic enrolment earnings thresholds review and revision 2013-14 an NAPF response
Automatic enrolment earnings thresholds review and revision 2013-14 an NAPF response

The NAPF has responded to the DWP’s consultation on the earnings thresholds under automatic enrolment for 2013/14.

The Government is required to review the lower and upper earnings band and the earnings trigger every year to ensure that they are at an appropriate level. The NAPF has recommended that the DWP maintain the links between the earnings trigger and tax thresholds to make it easier for employers to administer.

However, as income tax threshold increases, there is a risk that low income earners could be excluded from auto-enrolment. The NAPF has therefore recommended that the link between the earnings trigger and tax thresholds be reviewed in the future.
