PLSA launches new Made Simple Guide on indices and benchmarks
15 March 2017
The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) launched a new Made Simple Guide at its Investment Conference in Edinburgh. The publication, Indices and Benchmarks, sponsored by FTSE Russell, provides a straightforward introduction to a complex area of investment management.
Julian Mund, Commercial Services Director, Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association, commented:
“The PLSA produces Made Simple Guides to provide our members with information on complex areas in straightforward terms. We are really pleased that FTSE Russell was able to create a guide that we believe will be of great value for trustees. It provides simple information to guide trustees when benchmarking and selecting an index, so this guide is both useful and timely.”
Henry Odogwu, Managing Director and Head of Asset Owner Group, Europe, FTSE Russell said:
“We are pleased to have been able to work with the PLSA on this guide. We feel a good understanding of indices and benchmarks is essential for all trustees; especially when the integral roles played by indexes throughout the entire investment process is taken into account. However, this guide will be useful to many people, not just trustees, as it’s imperative that all those with fiduciary responsibility grasp how index selection can impact upon an investment plan’s ability to meet its objectives.”
