The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association's charities working group is helping develop possible easements for charities and other small employers that participate in multi-employer schemes like the Pensions Trust.
We are talking with the Department of Work and Pensions about possible solutions to the problems that these employers encounter when they attempt to withdraw from a multi-employer scheme.
We also have two subcommittees working on employer covenant issues.
- The first is working with the Pensions Protection Fund concerning how to define a “non profit organisation” for the purpose of determining the levy and will then be working on the sorts of factors that Experian should look at when evaluating employers in this sector
- The second is working with The Pensions Regulator to develop guidance on what trustees of a pension scheme should look at when evaluating the covenant of an employer in the charitable or non-profit sector.
