Leader, UK DB Governance, Mercer
Marion is a consultant with 30 years’ experience at Mercer, initially in its Legal Consulting team and latterly working as a benefits consultant with emphasis on scheme governance and relationship management.
She works as a senior consultant with a number of trustee boards of defined benefit schemes, liaising closely with her actuarial and investment colleagues to deliver a full range of services with a particular focus on trustee effectiveness and engagement. In this role, she has seen at first hand how important strong trusteeship, a robust governance framework and a collaborative approach is to good pension scheme governance.
Marion took on the role of DB Governance leader in early 2017, coincidentally around the time the Pensions Regulator’s “21st Century Trusteeship” initiative gathered pace. In this role, she has led a number of governance-focused initiatives within Mercer, developing a UK-wide network of Governance Champions and supporting greater focus on raising standards of governance.
