Nigel has over 20 years’ experience in public sector pensions. After qualifying as an accountant with the National Audit Office, he spent 10 years working in various finance, procurement and contract management positions with the NHS Pension Scheme. In 2006, he took on the role as the pensions technical advisor to CIPFA, where he worked with the CIPFA Pensions Panel to refresh and expand upon their guidance and training primarily aimed at the Local Government Pension Scheme, including driving through major improvements in investment management cost disclosure, accounting and reporting in the LGPS. In January 2016, he started his latest role managing the National LGPS Frameworks and has overseen a major expansion in the coverage of the Frameworks across a wide range of services in support of the administration of the LGPS, including, most recently, Investment Consultancy and Transition Management services.
