This course is the second of two 1-day courses which together provide an introduction to the role of a pension scheme trustee. It is suitable for new trustees who have already learned the rudiments of pension scheme trusteeship or if you have already attended Introduction to trusteeship Part 1: The theory.

Teach-in 02: Future proof your pensions administration by learning from the past (TI1805B)

This teach-in looks at the changing face of administration and how the evolving pension’s landscape impacts risks, operations and costs, as well as the focus of service delivery. Using the experience of the changes seen in the last ten years, as well as analysis of current trustee demands, predictions will be made about what the medium and long-term future holds for pensions administration and where the next set of service challenges are likely to come from. This Teach-in is located at the Manchester Piccadilly Doubletree Hilton, Manchester.

Understanding Investment Virtual Training (VTUI1805)

Understanding Investment is in two parts: Session 1 – The fundamentals (11:00 -12:00 noon). Session 2 – The Characteristics (14:00 -15:00) The sessions are offered through our virtual training platform using an internet connection. You will need video and audio access to do this training. If you work in an open plan office you may want to use head phones. Together they explore, for example, reasons why pension schemes invest and the factors that may influence investment performance. It looks at the investments most frequently used by pension funds, their main characteristics and risks, and key varieties of investment management.

A specialist pension event for Local Authorities, designed to look at the ever-changing Local Authority Pension Scheme.  Attended by some 400 local authority officers, councillors and their advisers.
